Denise Bidot has never apologized about her curves. She has taken the plus size fashion world by storm and is now inviting women worldwide to join her crusade of reshaping what it means to be beautiful with her lifestyle movement There Is No Wrong Way To Be a Woman. “The slogan I created years ago has grown into a movement and like any movement it needs a home,” Bidot said, proudly. “Not only will women from all over the world have a safe place free of criticism on thereisnowrongwaytobeawoman.com, but they’ll also have the opportunity to purchase merchandise baring the powerful statement and show how they’ve embraced their own unique beauty.”
It started with a photo shoot in Los Angeles, featuring a diverse group of women from various racial backgrounds and sizes adorned in the t-shirt with There Is No Wrong Way To Be a Woman splashed across the front. One woman involved is wheelchair bound and the photographer is currently battling breast cancer. The beautifully un-retouched images clearly show the strength, resilience and allure of the group made up of mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and friends ranging from size 2 through 22.
“The strength of a woman is unparalleled and society’s definition of beauty often overshadows it,” Bidot said. “I want to show that not only are we strong, but our differences are exactly what makes us beautiful. After all, a rainbow would be pretty boring if it was just one color and size.”
